“We are not innovators; we are guardians. We confess what we have received.”
— Saint Basil the Great
From the time of the Apostles until now, Christians have laid out beliefs in brief, definitive statements. As those who know God, we believe that it’s necessary to set forth, in a concise way, the cornerstone truths of our church, as guided by the Scriptures. Our Confession of Faith summarizes Christian beliefs, shows our unity in Christ, and guards the Church from error.
As a people rooted in the great stream of the church’s faith, we confess the Nicene Creed and hold fast to the Five Solas of the Reformation. Our elders gladly embrace the Second London Confession as their doctrinal standard, and they teach and lead in a manner consistent with it. We receive these confessions, not to narrow the church, but to cultivate clarity, charity, humility, and unity. In this way our fellowship is joined to the household of faith across the ages and our witness is strengthened in this generation.
